A red shear and a silver shear turn a two-pack into a system. Red takes the raw work, silver takes everything cooked, and you can tell them apart across the kitchen without picking either one up. The build is identical in both: 3.5 mm precision-tempered molybdenum-vanadium blades under a corrosion-resistant coating, industrial aluminum handles, a thumb rest, and toothed nut-cracking grips between the handles.

Anatomy of the tool

Pair

Red for raw, silver for cooked

Two colors let you see which shear touched the chicken. Assign red to raw poultry, fish and shrimp, leave silver for herbs, pizza and anything headed to the table, and the rule holds itself without labels.

Blades

The same grind in both colors

Neither color is the lesser pair. Both shears carry 3.5 mm precision-tempered molybdenum-vanadium blades and the same corrosion-resistant coating, so whichever one you grab will take a poultry bone at the back of the jaw.

Grip

Aluminum under the red and the silver

The handles are industrial-grade aluminum, rated for roughly ten times the pressure a regular scissor frame survives, with a non-slip surface and a thumb rest for the long stretch of a holiday prep.

In Use

Two cooks, one cutting board

With both pairs out at once, one person can break down a chicken while the other snips herbs for the pan. Nobody waits on the only shear in the house, and the colors keep the two jobs separate.

From the sharpening bench

Hand the red pair to raw meat and keep that assignment from day one. Color-coding a kitchen works only as long as nobody swaps the two around.
