Same tray, slimmer frame. This version suits drawers that run deep front to back but tight across: 6.22 inches wide against 8.66 for the wider model in the line. It holds four large knives up to 8 inches and four small ones in the 4 to 5 inch range, each in a dedicated slot. Measure the inside of the drawer first, because under 6.5 inches of width it will not seat.

Anatomy of the tool

Storage

Narrow frame, same slot depth

Width is the only thing this version gives up. The slots still take large knives to 8 inches lying on their sides with the small blades alongside, so a tight drawer gets the same separation between edges as a wide one.

Lid

Dust cover you can see through

A clear lid sits over the insert to keep stored blades clean between uses, and you still read the row at a glance. Pull it off while the drawer is in daily use and put it back when it is not.

Pairing

Two jobs from one shell

Lift the knife insert out and the base becomes an open organizer for silverware or utensils. Run it either way, or split the two parts between drawers and let each one hold a different kind of clutter.

Care

Rinse, drain, reload

Moisture escapes through holes in the base rather than sitting under the blades, and the plastic takes a rinse at the sink. Knives are not included, so the slots arrive clean and stay that way if you dry blades first.

From the sharpening bench

Load the large knives all facing the same way, spines toward you. Reaching into a drawer goes better when every handle presents itself at the same angle.
